Restylane Kysse

Restylane Kysse is injected into the lips and the lines around the upper lip to temporarily add fullness to the lips and help smooth the wrinkles around the upper lip.   Restylane Kysse can also be injected into the skin above your lips to help smooth the wrinkles around your upper lip.  Indicated for those over age 21.

How Does Restylane Kysse Work?

Restylane Kysse is a clear, injectable gel composed of hyaluronic acid.  HA is a naturally occurring sugar, found in the human body.   Restylane Kysse is crosslinked with an ingredient that helps form a network of HA to provide a gel filler that lasts longer.  HA fillers, including Restylane Kysse, contains HA that has been modified to last longer in the body than the naturally occurring HA.

Are There Do's & Don'ts?

A week before your procedure, it is recommended that you avoid taking aspirin and other anti-inflammatory drugs which thin the blood. This will reduce the risk of bruising at the injection site. It is suggested that you avoid strenuous physical activities, excessive sun/heat exposure as well, or consumption of alcohol for the first 24 hours post injection.  No makeup, as able, post injection for at least 12 hours.  This will help reduce the chance of infection.  Possible side effects include redness, itching, swelling or bumps to the area of injection.  These reactions are usually mild to moderate and resolve within a week.  Bruising can happen with facial injections.  If you have an important event, I recommend the injections be completed 4 weeks ahead of the event.  This gives you time to resolve any bruising, gives the filler time to settle and also time for any tweaks as needed. Ice is great for any swelling after injections.
