Restylane Contour

Restylane Contour is a dermal filler injected under the facial skin.  Once in place, it helps to restore volume of your midface.  Restylane Contour may also be used to increase fullness of your cheeks.  As you age, your facial skin begins to lose its elasticity and volume.  As a result, the face droops and shifts downwards and your facial features may become hollow.  Restylane Contour is designed to temporarily restore volume to the midface and to add fullness to the cheeks in those over the age of 21.

How Does Restylane Contour Work?

Restylane Contour is made out of hyaluronic acid, a natural occurring sugar, found in the body.  Hyaluronic acid gives the skin moisture, volume and elasticity.   Contour is injected with a small needle or cannula under your facial skin.  Restylane Contour has been shown to maintain this effect for up to 12 months.

Are There Do's & Don'ts?

A week before your procedure, it is recommended that you avoid taking aspirin and other anti-inflammatory drugs which thin the blood. This will reduce the risk of bruising at the injection site. It is suggested that you avoid strenuous physical activities, excessive sun/heat exposure as well, or consumption of alcohol for the first 24 hours post injection.  No makeup, as able, post injection for at least 12 hours.  This will help reduce the chance of infection.  Possible side effects include redness, itching, swelling or bumps to the area of injection.  These reactions are usually mild to moderate and resolve within a week.  Bruising can happen with facial injections.  If you have an important event, I recommend the injections be completed 4 weeks ahead of the event.  This gives you time to resolve any bruising, gives the filler time to settle and also time for any tweaks as needed. Ice is great for any swelling after injections.

Is Restylane Contour Right for me?

Do you feel like you need to restore volume to your midface and cheek? Contour may be right for you!  As we age our face begins to shift downward and Contour can help to restore the volume needed.  Contour can also build those cheekbones that will give you projection and contour your face.  An assessment from all angles will give you an idea of how much Contour to use so that you look very natural and like you had nothing done!
