JUVEDERM® Ultra Plus XC is a more highly cross-linked robust formula for volumizing and correction of deeper folds and wrinkles and has been specifically formulated to reduce any pain and irritation that can come with receiving an injection.
JUVEDERM® is applied with a fine needle just under the skin. Beforehand, Judy will apply a cream to numb the area to be injected. JUVEDERM does contain lidocaine as well, a numbing medicine, to help with discomfort. Afterwards, the areas of injection may be massaged gently. The whole process will only take 15 minutes to an hour, depending on the area which is being treated. There is also minimal recovery time so you can return to you regular activities the same day. For your first visit be prepared to answer questions about your medical history, including any medication you may be taking or allergies you may have. Judy will examine your skin and measure the depth of your wrinkles or folds to better discuss the level of treatment that is appropriate for you individually.
A week before your procedure, it is recommended that you avoid taking aspirin and other anti-inflammatory drugs which thin the blood. This will reduce the risk of bruising at the injection site. It is suggested that you avoid strenuous physical activities or excessive sun and heat exposure as well as the consumption of alcohol, at least for the first 24 hours. Also, be careful about application of make-up. This will help reduce the chance of some possible side-effects like redness, itching, swelling or bumps. These reactions are usually mild to moderate and resolve within 7 days or less. Applying an ice pack for a brief period of time may be helpful if you notice some of these reactions.

Juvéderm Vollure XC is FDA-approved to use Vycross technology in the wrinkles around your nose and mouth, which also happens to be the number-one dermal treatment area. What’s exciting about Juvéderm Vollure XC is that it was shown to last up to 18 months from the initial or touch-up injection.
Yes, you can combine fillers and other injectable treatments. Combining Juvederm with Botox, Kybella or other fillers is fine. You would want to wait 7-10 days for any facial massage or microneedling. You would want to wait several weeks for any type of laser to the area injected.
Lidocaine cream will be applied to the area of treatment. Ice can also be used as well. Lidocaine dental blocks offered for lip injections.

Injecting filler is done with a needle or a blunt tip cannula. You may develop swelling, redness and bruising after injections. Judy will give you post-injection filler instructions. Ice is recommended for any swelling. You may return to your normal activities after having injections.
