Chemical Peels & Exfoliants Aftercare Instructions

The first 72 hours post-procedure are critical to your results

• Avoid direct sun and extremes of hot and cold temperatures.  This includes sweating, exercising, swimming, hot baths, and showers, cooking over a hot stove, etc. for 72 hours.

• Avoid touching the treatment area.

• Let the flaking/peeling process happen naturally.  Do not pick, scratch, or scrub the skin.  Doing so can cause scarring, discoloration, or infection.

• Only wash the area with hands and a gentle cleanser, cool water, and pat dry.

• Do not use AHA or BHA products for at least 72 hours or 6 weeks if you are doing a treatment series.

• Stay hydrated by drinking 8 glasses of water per day.

• Skin may feel tight, dry, or sensitive.  Redness may last for up to 10 days. Minimize facial expressions which can cause premature shedding of skin.

• Sleep on your back if possible.

• Apply moisturizer as needed.

• Depending on the peel that you have chosen, specific instructions will also be given.
